Speciesist would be the word you're looking for, but no we aren't speciesist. Chimps don't have the same capacity to reason that we do, nor do they have the same impulse control. They are also much stronger than humans, which is why when we study them in captivity we keep them behind bars or Plexiglas. Is it discriminatory to keep severely mentally disabled people in care homes? No, because they don't have the same capacity to reason that we do, and some don't have the same impulse control.
