Can rowing crew help me get into college?

I am a junior in high school. my average gpa is a 3.2.... a 3.7 if u dont count freshman year.... haha. anyways i rowed on my high school crew team for two years and this year i was made a coxswain and i will be a coxswain next year as well. if i know how to row and cox will this help me get into a good college even if my grades arent spectacular? i also volunteer at childrens hospital and i am involved in clubs at my school. i also took ap classes my junior year. anyways... just wondering if rowing and coxing could look good to colleges.
